Sunlight Group: Visit by Defense Attachés from 23 countries to the facilities in Xanthi

Its strategic role in the international market for energy solutions in the defense sector is highlighted.

Sunlight Group, a member of the Olympia Group and a global leader in innovative energy storage technologies, recently hosted the annual informational visit of Defense Attachés (AKAM) from 23 countries and 5 continents, informing them about the crucial role of energy storage in defense. The visit took place at its industrial complex in Neo Olvio, Xanthi, which is the largest vertically integrated traction battery manufacturing plant in the world and one of the most modern industrial facilities in Europe. The factory's fully vertical production chain ensures technological autonomy and security of supply.

Hosting the multinational delegation underscored Sunlight's critical role as an international supplier of advanced energy solutions for critical defense systems. During the visit, Sunlight's technological superiority and innovation in the development of energy systems, specially designed for demanding defense applications, such as the "soldier's battery," vehicle batteries, and batteries for unmanned vehicles.

Sunlight has a long history in the defense industry, with over 30 years of experience, and over the last five years it has steadily increased its investments in new technologies and applications, responding to the needs of the geopolitical environment. As a key supplier to the Greek Armed Forces and international armed forces, the company produces three of the five batteries that meet NATO's strict specifications, while all products comply with the most stringent international military standards. Its expertise is internationally recognized, with its inclusion in the official list of technology development programs funded by the US Pentagon being a major milestone. Finally, Sunlight's advanced lithium battery solutions for military vehicles allow systems to operate without the engines running continuously, thus reducing the thermal footprint and preventing the location from being revealed, offering greater operational coverage and autonomy.

The delegation of Defense Attachés included representatives from the following 23 countries: United Kingdom, United States of America, Spain, France, Germany, Australia, Austria, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Israel, Italy, China, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and the Czech Republic.

The Annual Informative Visit of Defense Attachés (AKAM), an institution of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS) for the contact of Defense Attachés accredited in Greece with entities that contribute to the country's defense readiness and technological progress, was held with the Greek Armed Forces represented by Brigadier General Stefanos Abouleris (Director of HNDGS/E4), who accompanied the foreign AKAMs together with five staff officers from the General Staffs (HNDGS, HNDGS, HNDGS, HNDGS). The informative visit was welcomed and coordinated by Sunlight Group executives, including Mr. Nikos Tsiouvaras (CTO), Mr. Kostas Paspalas (Greece Industrial Complex Manufacturing Director), Mr. Gerasimos Karvelis (Head of Special Products Development), Ms. Angeliki Eleftheriou (Corporate Affairs Director) and Mr. Spyros Nakos (Community Relations & Sustainability Manager).
